MKT Gallery presents “Celebrities of Our Time” from artist Roldan West during November Art Loop! West will be present to engage with visitors about the artwork. Hors d’Oeuvres and wine will be served as refreshments. We hope to see you there!

Description: We live in a time celebrating the past of our ancestor artists who live their lives and inspire future artists to continue their styles and continue when we need to represent our own time.

About The Artist: Born in Nicaragua, Roldan West started to paint at the age of 3. As a teenager, he joined the literacy campaign to illustrate billboard ads to motivate the local natives to learn to read and write. This experience inspired him to attend an art school in Managua. During his study, he worked with well-known artist Sergio Michellini creating murals in Managua in celebration of the countries Sandinista revolution. Roldan has studied abroad in Mexico & Europe to learn more about Muralist art. After 3 1/2 half years traveling, he went back to Mexico to learn spray can & airbrush painting. With the influence from the artists that Roldan has received and his style in his travels, he hopes that he has helped inspire others to do the same. Many may not know where his work comes from but it is attractive to the eyes. He has been in the United States for over 15 years and his art & murals are prominently displayed in homes and on buildings in Florida, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, as well as Mexico, Italy, and France. Art is the communicator of generations to come; creativity is the form humans know how to relate. Art is harmony and wisdom of the world, therefore should inspire creativity and equality, what is left is the legacy to continue. “One love, One heart, One world.”
