#MondayOnMarket – Ninth Street Book Shop
January 8, 2018Market Street is home to great restaurants, small businesses, local coffee shops, and live music venues. Our series #MondayOnMarket features a different business located on Market Street every week, because we encourage our residents to play where they live!
Happy first #MondayOnMarket of 2018! As temperatures continue to dip below freezing and the winds rage on outside, strolling up and down Market Street may be the last thing anyone wants to do. Cozying up with a good book from Ninth Street Book Shop may be the perfect thing to do to keep you from going stir-crazy inside your apartment. Located at 8th and Market, Wilmington’s oldest independent book store has been selling a carefully curated selection of titles for nearly 40 years. In 2012, the book store moved from 104 W. 9th St to the current location on the 800 block of Market St, but owners Jack and Gemma Buckley couldn’t bear to change the name of their beloved book store. With inventory ranging from national bestsellers to an extensive regional history section, you are sure to find something to capture your attention.
Sadly, Ninth Street Book Shop will be closing at the end of this month as owners Gemma and Jack go into retirement. Hurry in to pick up a few good reads before the shops doors are closed for good on Friday, January 26th!
